Call For entries

Throughout the farming community, the FWAG Silver Lapwing Award is acknowledged as the most prestigious conservation competition, promoting environmental best practice in today's commercial farming sector.

Entries are welcomed from farmers, farm managers, tenants or owners and from all types of farm enterprise including arable, livestock, mixed and forestry, regardless of size.

The Silver Lapwing Award

The FWAG Silver Lapwing Award is presented to the farm that is judged to have done the most to encourage conservation (taken to include fauna, flora, landscape and historical interests) and demonstrates a track record of environmental best practice, integrated seamlessly into a commercially successful farming business over more than three years.The Silver Lapwing Runners-up Awards

When judging environmental endeavour, the difference between winning and losing can be marginal. So we've introduced the FWAG Silver Lapwing Runners-up Awards. These Awards will be presented to the two farms that are judged to be the second and third best entries within the competition.

Many of you carry out a great deal of high quality environmental management on your farms much of which goes unnoticed. This is your chance to shout about it and make the wider public aware of the good that farmers do; we look forward to recieving your application.
