This year's FWAG Cymru - National Grid Silver Lapwing Farm Conservation Competition is now open for entries.
The award promotes environmental best practice in the commercial farming sector, and entries are invited from all farmers in Wales. There will be 3 regional awards, one each for north, mid (Powys & Ceredigion) & south Wales; and an overall Wales winner. Each regional winner will receive a cheque for £200 together with a FWAG Cymru - National Grid Silver Lapwing farm gate plaque. The overall Silver Lapwing Award winner will receive a further £600. The awards will be presented at the Royal Welsh Show in July this year.

Angela Ford explained that National Grid was delighted to continue working with FWAG Cymru, and to be involved with the competition highlighting environmental management and agricultural production working in tandem.
A farm walk to celebrate last year's winner's achievement will be held on the 9th June. This will be at the Bodior Estate, Rhoscolyn, Anglesey hosted by the winners, Mr Frank Roberts, Farm Manager, and the Bulmer family of Herefordshire.
