FWAG is a farmer led organisation and Scotland’s leading independent provider of environmental and conservation advice to farmers and crofters. As a trusted part of the farming community throughout Scotland we:
Help identify ways of integrating environmental goals into farm business plans and day-to-day farming operations through advice and demonstration and by using farmer expertise and local knowledge.
Have a highly successful track record in helping to secure millions of pounds of agri-environment scheme money for farmers and crofters across Scotland.
Provide advice and support on grant aid, Land Management Contracts, Whole Farm Reviews, environmental business planning, Croft Development Plans, access, wildlife, manure and waste management, nutrient budgets, local food labelling, specialised training (such as fencing, dyking, hedging, butchery) and farm tourism.
Operate from 15 regional offices with highly skilled advisers backed by local farmer-led groups.
Operate from the ground up to reflect local farming priorities.
Help turn increasingly complex farming policy into practice at the farm gate.
Represent the needs of farmers locally and nationally by feeding into agrienvironment policy, and working with SEERAD, SNH, SEPA, NFUS and a wide range of conservation and trade organisations.
Initiate and secure project funds to deliver important results for farming and wildlife.
